CAFOD Liverpool Fun Run 2009

Still feel like you are carrying the Christmas Pudding after Boxing Day? Come and run it off at the 26th CAFOD Liverpool Fun Run.

It takes places as usual on Sunday 27th December, starting 1pm prompt at ‘The Mystery’ Wavertree Park, Liverpool L15 4LE.

I am aware that this year has been difficult because of the current economic climate. However as much as we may be struggling many countries in the developing world have been hit the hardest and as we have heard in the news recently charitable donations are dwindling and the poorest people in our world are becoming even poorer.

We hope this year as many of you as possible will try and gather sponsors to help us reach our target of £20,000. If 400 people raised just £50 each through sponsorship we could do it ! Download our Fun Run Poster to help you fundraise.

May I take this opportunity to thank those of you who do this already and raise fantastic amounts through parishes, schools, work places and from family and friends throughout the North West.

You will remember last year we had someone helping you limber up with rhythmic exercises around 12.40pm. I know many of you thoroughly enjoyed this so we have decided to make this a permanent feature of the event.

For more information please ring the CAFOD Liverpool office on 0151 228 4028 or email liverpool@cafod.org.uk.

This year for the first time you can register and pay by ringing 0207 095 5684 so have your credit/debitcard ready to make your early bird payment of £5 per individual or £10 per family.

It may be a little early but I hope you have a happy and blessed Christmas, and let’s all bring the developing world into our celebrations this Christmas!

Mike Merriman
Run Co-ordinator (On behalf of the Fun Run Team)
