“A CAFOD CRIB OF WORLD GIFTS”

Many congratulations to the Little Church in St. Gregory’s, Lydiate. They came up with the brilliant idea of having a CAFOD Crib this year. All through Advent the parish and the Little Church collected money for Christmas gifts to be given through CAFOD; in this case the gifts were pigs and chickens to be sent to families in the developing world. The Youth Group (YCW) designed and made the crib on the church wall. As the money was collected, the Little Church produced cut-out paper ‘pigs’ and ‘chickens’ which were added to the scene. As the original stable was too small they soon spread round the outside of the crib and were mixed with the shepherds, the angels and some camels.
The response from the parishioners was immediate and generous. £1550 was raised and has already been sent with love, in the hope that the anilmanls will make a real difference to the lives of the people who receive them”.
