ReSound Community Choir raises £200.00 for CAFOD!

Sarah Monteith (the Chair of ReSound Community Choir) tells us how ReSound Community Choir recently raised £200.00 for CAFOD:

“ReSound Community Choir are a group of singers in the North West of England, and were formed to provide an opportunity to meet and sing together. The choir is a broad mix of people, from professional musicians to people who just enjoy singing as a hobby, and contains a wide range of ages- young and older voices. Last year the choir became a registered charity. Aside from the weekly meetings we put on three big concerts a year, raising money for local and national charities, and we also sing at community events throughout the summer.

Celebrate! is our annual Christmas concert, and for the last couple of years it has been held at a beautiful church called St Elizabeth’s in Scarisbrick. The tickets sold out within a week of going on sale; people really enjoyed the mix of secular and sacred music, and holding it on December 22nd, so close to Christmas, means everyone really felt that Christmas spirit. The weather once again was very snowy, and this meant travelling was difficult for a lot of people, but those that made it had a wonderful evening of music, mulled wine and mince pies!”

Many thanks to every member of ReSound Community Choir and all those who attended Celebrate!
