On Thursday 9th June 2011, CAFOD supporters from Liverpool Archdiocese will be channelling their inner Mrs Doyle (from Father Ted) when they will be travelling down to Westminster to have a cup of tea with their local MPs. During this cup of tea, there will be a chance for CAFOD supporters to talk to their MPs about global poverty and international development including issues like aid and economic justice! Also present on the day will be some of CAFOD’s overseas partners and other special guests who will be speaking throughout the day!
CAFOD Liverpool are responsible for lobbying the MP for Wigan (Lisa Nandy) so we are particularly hoping that constituents from Wigan will be able to come along. Lisa Nandy has also agreed to meet with us for 1/2 hour (she was the first MP in the whole country to agree to meet with constituents)!
We will be travelling down by coach from Wigan. The coach leaves at 6:30am and we will be leaving London at around 4:30pm. Tickets cost £20. We still have tickets available so if you would like to come for tea with your MP, please contact the Liverpool office on 0151 228 4028!

If you are from Wigan, please could you put posters up in churches, secondary schools and other locations in the community where charities and other community organsiations meet-even libraries!

Many thanks and hopefully see you on Thursday 9th June!
