Shaw Hills Golf Club Hits the Sweet-Spot for the 5th Year

For the 5th year Mrs Kathleen Tyrer has happily hosted her renowned Charity Golfing Day, Black Tie Dinner and Auction on Friday 9th September at Shaw Hills.  Golfers were favoured with  fair weather which flowed over the fairways all day and evening guests were rewarded with a superb sunset  at 7.30pm.  Kathleen has  again chosen CAFOD and the charity Maninga Mozambique to be the beneficiaries of this wonderful event. Many thanks Kathleen for your continued support. (Pictured above are Ged Tyrer  Chris Lappine  Kathleen Tyrer  and  Mike Gunning.

(And if you are wondering what a sweet-spot is read on….

A sweet-spot is a golfing term i.e. a precise spot on the face of a golf club that will deliver the maximum mass behind the ball, it is normally in the centre of the golf club face and if struck by this point of the golf club a ball will normally travel further than with any other part of the club.)
