HOPE Academy make a splash for CAFOD!

HOPE Academy in Newton-le-Willows recently raised money for CAFOD over Lent. Chaplain Miriam Dunn tells us what the pupils got upto over Lent:

“During lent the staff and pupils of Hope Academy were busy raising money for CAFOD by supporting the ‘Give it up’ campaign. We looked at the importance of water during our form time and in assemblies, learning that many people in our world do not have access to clean water and the problems that arise as a result of this. We were inspired to do something about this injustice and had all sorts of fundraising activities happening throughout the school, including cake sales, Easter egg raffles and quizzes. If we managed to raise over £500 the Chaplain promised to wear a fancy dress costume for the whole day and altogether we raised £633.36 so as promised here she is! Well done to all who supported the campaign. You are brilliant.”
