The CAFOD Cup Sefton and Lancashire heat

The Sefton and Lancashire heats of the CAFOD Cup took place at Maricourt Catholic High School on the afternoon of Friday 21st June and it involved 6 schools from Sefton and Lancashire LEAs. The six schools that battled it out included:

»Holy Spirit Catholic Primary School in Ford (Cambodia)

» St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School in Lydiate (El Salvador)

» St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Little Crosby(Rwanda)

»St Monica’s Catholic Primary School in Bootle (Bangladesh)

» St Jerome’s Catholic Primary School in Formby(Brazil)

» St John Bosco Catholic Primary School in Maghull (Ethiopia)

All the schools came up with their own victory dances too! After a nail-biting and fun-filled tournament, the semi–finals saw Holy Spirit pitted against St John Bosco and St Gregory’s versus St Monica’s. In the end St Gregory’s and Holy Spirit reached the finals. At the end of the match, St Gregory’s were crowned the ‘CAFOD Cup Sefton and Lancashire heat winners.’ St Gregory’s will now be representing Sefton/Lancashire in the CAFOD Cup grand final! Every child who took part received a CAFOD Cup medal and a certificate!
