The North West launch of CAFOD’s new campaign: One Climate One World on Saturday 20 September 2014 at the

Quaker Friends’ Meeting House

6 Mount Street,

Manchester

M2 5NS

Starting at 2pm (arrivals and refreshments from 1.30pm) and finishing at 5pm.

……..for the 5 dioceses of the Northwest region and also Leeds Diocese.

Our launch takes place on the eve of the Labour Party Conference in Manchester and on the day of the National Women’s Conference – to which the women members of the Labour Party are invited to attend before Annual Conference opens. Taking advantage of this, we have invited a couple of MPs along to our launch. We’ll be able to confirm their attendance nearer the time.

We are pleased that Bishop Terence Brain of Salford Diocese will join us.

At our Campaigns Energiser Day in June in Preston, many commented on how interesting they found the perspective given by CAFOD Policy Analyst Rob Elsworth in Preston at the Campaign Energiser Day in Preston in June. We are pleased that Sarah Wykes, CAFOD’s Lead Analyst on Environment and Climate Change, will be joining us for the launch to continue this conversation.climate 3

At the end of the day, there is the option to go to Mass at The Hidden Gem (St Mary’s), a beautiful small Catholic Church, minutes away from our meeting place. Mass starts at 5.15pm.

The programme for the afternoon includes input from members of CAFOD’s Campaign Team, Eilidh Macpherson and Maria Elena Arana, as well as from Sarah Wykes our Senior Analyst on Climate Change and Energy. There’ll be an opportunity for a community action and photo with the Bishop and the MPs and time for reflection and questions too.

We hope you can join us for what promises to be an interesting, active and informative afternoon.

You can book your place through the CAFOD website.

Alternatively you could let us know at the CAFOD Liverpool Office liverpool@cafod.org.uk or by phone 0151 228 4028
