It’s that time of year again so get out your running shoes…. it’s the CAFOD Liverpool Fun Run. And this years’ run is extra special-it’s the 30th run!
For 31 years (the 2010 run was cancelled because of the snow), people have been coming together to raise as much money as possible for a really good cause. This year we have decided to raise money for the people in Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia who are suffering from the current Ebola crisis.
Maybe you haven’t come to the run for a while and this year would be the perfect time to return to help us celebrate our 30th Birthday! That’s the case for Bishop John Rawsthorne who has kindly agreed to start the run. Bishop John was a regular runner at Upholland in the early days! As usual the run takes places on Saturday 27th December 1pm prompt at Wavertree Park, Liverpool L15 4LE.
A poster advertising the Fun Run can be downloaded here while the sponsor form can be found here. You can also see a letter written by CAFOD volunteer Mike Dooling here. Mike is the Fun Run Co-ordinator.It would be great if you could put this poster up in your church, school or workplace and get as many people as possible to attend on the day or to sponsor your run.
Don’t forget if you wear fancy dress-there is a prize for the best costume!
It’s still the bargain price of £5 per individual or £10 per family.
This year, we urgently need some extra help to set out the course. So if you are fit and able, we would be extremely grateful for your help. If you are interested please contact the Liverpool Office or Mike Dooling at firstname.lastname@example.org
For more information about the Fun Run, please ring the Liverpool Office on 0151 228 4028 or email email@example.com and we will be happy to help!
Hope to see as many of you as possible to make our birthday celebrations go off with a bang!
