On 7th October you are invited to join CAFOD online for your chance to hear from Nikki Evans, Programme Officer for Bolivia. You can find out about CAFOD’s work in Bolivia and ask any questions you might have about our projects.
Joining an online talk is easy. Simply choose from the lunchtime and evening talks and register using your email address.
When Nikki Evans came to the Harvest Fast Day session, she told us all about her experiences’ in Bolivia, and about CAFOD’s work:
“The Harvest Fast Day appeal will help families, like Nicanora’s in Bolivia, to grow enough food. By growing more food, families won’t have to use their income to buy vegetables and eventually can grow enough to sell at the market. The project will help families grow many different types of vegetables and teaches people about nutrition to tackle malnutrition in children. Our partners teach families different techniques to help them cope with climate change and harsh weather conditions. The greenhouses that families build protect crops from hailstorms, frosts and harsh sunlight and enable families to grow vegetables like lettuces and tomatoes.”
“I’m so pleased that the Bolivian rural livelihoods projects were chosen for Hands On! Many of the poorest and most vulnerable people in Bolivia live in the highest parts of the Andes mountains and so it’s difficult for visitors to come and learn about the work the CAFOD supports.”
